Transaction dates used in Practice Optimizer for reports and KPI's are dictated by the date a transaction (invoice) is dated, not necessarily the date of individual transaction line items within the invoice. Typically this is the date that the invoice gets finalized or closed.
Many practice management software programs offer the ability to have individual line items with different dates within a single invoice. This is especially common in animal health when a patient may be hospitalized for several days.
A single invoice may look like this:
8/30/2016 Examination $60
8/30/2016 Hospitalization $25
8/31/2016 Surgery $200
8/31/2016 Pain medication -inhouse $20
8/31/2016 Hospitalization $25
9/1/2016 Pain medication dispensed $40
9/1/2016 Invoice Total $370
In this case a $370 invoice was closed on 9/1/2016 and this $370 in production will get posted to 9/1/2016 production in Practice Optimizer. Also, the individual transaction line items will show a date of 9/1/2016 in Practice Optimizer. Practice Optimizer will not show any of the procedures in the invoice under production for 8/30/2016 or 8/31/2016 even though there are individual line items with this transaction date in the practice software.
This logic will closely match the logic from the practice management software.
